Hrm, so much has happened since last week.
Firstly, the rest of the people arrived for our PIT course and overall they seem like an ok bunch. Kirk, Jay and myself have been put in the small group of older people (boo hoo im only 22 :'() with 2 ladies and one south african guy. It's nice being in the small group (and mature?) as we seem to pack up quickly and are ready on time in the mornings.
I have been getting up at like 7:30 every day easily, although it could be due to the fact that i get so much sleep due to their being nothing to do in the evenings except play pool and drink at the bar. We did however buy a tv last week which is pretty neat, although Kirk did reverse into a car when parking that day. Whoops.
So, onto the course. We started monday/tuesday doing kayaking this week with a guy called Phil who is pretty good at it to be honest. Learned a lot of stuff and mastered (almost) eskimo rolls and low and high braces. Clinton didnt have to rescue me once in the pool actually, although in the sea i did 3 failed attempts in a row and had to rip chord out as i was doing it out of the way of Phil who would have saved me :).
I feel really good about the kayaking and cant wait to get more into it and hopefully into some wave surfing and rapids.
Today was spent inside studying first aid. CPR, burns, breaks, etc etc etc. Pretty good fun for the first hour or so, but by the end i was glad to get out. Another vicotry in my pursuit of excellence though. :)
Tomorrow we are doing powerboat level 1 which will be ok, i seem to be able to handle the ribs quite well and last time got told off for doing a figure of 8 too fast. Whoops.
Wonder if ive said that before...
Anyway, got to do research for a talk on sea kayaking and another one of my choice.
Later folks.
